Launched in Sep. 2005, Paynet provides simple and secure real-time processing electronic payment services for Jordanian entities who wish to conduct local and global e-Business, e-Government or e-Commerce activities. 

The joint venture established partnerships with the leading banks in Jordan to offer multiple payment methods including Visa and Mastercard Credit cards, Debit cards, Pre-paid cards as well as account to account transfer in cooperation with participating banks. 

PAYNET has adopted “Verified by Visa” and “MasterCard SecureCode” standards.  By applying these international standards, users paying electronically by Visa, Visa electron and MasterCard are requested to enter a pin code in addition to further card information thereby identifying the cardholder identity and authorization.  Through these measures, misuse and fraud are prevented.

New Brand For Visa

In 2005, Visa announced a brand update that goes beyond a new look for the famous blue, white and gold logo. This change will ensure that the Visa brand maintains its global leadership well into the 21st century.

While the design has been injected with new energy that gives it a fresher, more contemporary feel, Visa has also evolved its brand to better reflect the growing choice of products and services available today and in the future.
 
In addition to a refreshed Visa logo on the card and at the point of sale, the updated brand coincides with a new, improved, card format which allows a larger part of the front of the card to be used for new issuer designs or communications.

Visa plans for a natural transition from the old to the new brand structure. This transition will take place over the next three years.

The updated brand reflects who Visa is–a forward–looking, global leader in electronic payments that is trusted by buyers and sellers worldwide to provide secure payment options both now and in the future.

VJCS launches its marketing Campaign for 2006-2007

Visa Jordan will launch its marketing campaign targeted to Visa Merchants in December 2006.  The campaign will aim at motivating and activating merchants to accept visa cards at their outlets in addition to increasing their sales on visa. 
                 
Merchants will be rewarded through providing weekly prizes including Mobile phones, Home theatres, Digital Cameras, Stays at Movenpick hotels, in addition to lunch and dinner invitations at famous restaurants.

VJCS will also be rewarding Cashiers who contribute to increasing their shops sales through encouraging customers pay with visa.  

This campaign lies within the strategy of the company to enhance the acceptance of visa cards in Jordan as a secure and simple method of payment.   

NEW GPRS SERVICE

VJCS recently introduced the GPRS device.  This simple and convenient solution works via the mobile phone and facilitates outdoor payments.  It operates as the ordinary POS and is charged every six hours. 

VISA CHIP CARD TECHNOLOGY

Also known as a Visa SMART Card, the chip card is a plastic payment card with an embedded micro computer.  The chip securely stores encrypted confidential information such as the cardholder account number and Personal Identification number (PIN).  A Chip enables the card to hold and update multiple applications and data securely. 

Together, the use of chip and PIN reduces fraud.
